properly preparation a female for breeding

Breeders should prioritize female breeding for healthy and quality litter, as this ensures the functioning and survival of kennels.

Breeding is hindered by poor health conditions and poor shape of females, leading to sterile stud dogs, sick litters, and empty females after breeding.

I feels that a well-preparation Rottweiler female for breeding should look like this.

In my opinion a well-preparation Rottweiler female for breeding should look like this.

Vaccination must be administered many months before breeding, and deworming should be done a week or two before vaccination.
However, we must deworm a female prior to mating and maintain a three-month interval between dewormings.
The last deworming should be one or two weeks before breeding.

Deworming ensures that the female body produces adequate antibodies following immunization.
Also, after a high level of antibody on the female, the puppies will be protected from desises.
Deworming before breeding ensures that pups grow properly and are parasite-free three weeks later, when it is time for their first deworming.

vaginal bacteria test

The bacteria vagina test is a crucial diagnostic tool for detecting and controlling the presence of certain bacteria in the fetus.

Few weeks before breeding, we don’t know when the exact heat phase will occur, but according to our notes, and a few days before heat, we need to perform a ‘bacteria vagina’ test.
We need an example obtained from the vagina and delivered to the laboratory.
If the female has bacteria, we will receive ‘antibiogram report’ in addition to the results.
We must bear in mind that we intend to breed the female and inform the vet who will administer the therapeutic doses.
I’m stating this because certain antibiotics cannot be used during pregnancy.
Antibiograms always show a few possibilities for antibiotics, thus we require antibiotics for pregnant female.

Veterinarian must take a vaginal, blood sample and decide about  antibiotic therapy.

Progesterone and it purpose

Progesterone is a hormone produced by the ovaries in female mammals, including humans and animals. It plays a crucial role in regulating the menstrual cycle and maintaining pregnancy.

In breeding females, checking progesterone levels helps determine the optimal time for mating or artificial insemination. Monitoring progesterone levels helps identify the peak of the female’s fertility, indicating the best time for conception to occur. This is particularly important in species with specific breeding windows or when using assisted reproductive technologies to increase the chances of successful breeding.

We should do a progesterone test in the laboratory using blood from a female.
We need to do a progesterone test on the fourth or fifth day after starting female blooding,
and every second day.
I plan to breed a female when the progesterone levels hit 12 ng/ml.
Before the progesterone test began, we usually bred a female between the fifteenth and eighteenth days of her heat.

Repeat the bacteria vaginal test two weeks before puppies delivery.

The vaginal bacteria test must be done again in the event that we have done natural breeding. In this case, the male can carry over bacteria to the female, so if the female has bacteria, we need to start with treatment a few days before puppy delivery and go on for about three to five days during the first days of the puppy’s life.
This type of therapy must be allowed for pregnant females!
